Open Day Success!!

We are absolutely delighted by the turnout we had for our Open Day on 1st August. A lot of work went into making it happen, and it paid off amazingly.

We raised a total of £688 for Beyond All Labels. This will allow us to open our doors to counselling clients as well as our clubs.

On the day, we were privileged to host Scottish Fire and Rescue's Amber Team. The little ones enjoyed exploring the fire engine – and so did our Big Bug!

We also welcomed Therapets, who brought along four of their wonderful therapy dogs, which were a huge hit with everyone.

All of the cake was eaten, thanks to Hazel's at Home Baking for donating a fabulous selection. Fruit was enjoyed thanks to Mary at Asda Blantyre, and crisps and snacks were kindly donated by Mo Razzaq of Premier Blantyre.

One of the greatest donations was from the amazingly talented Catherine Laverty of Paint.by.laverty (instagram) who generously donated origional art work for the sensory room. We are very grateful.

Our volunteers really excelled, and some lovely visitors were even roped into helping out on the day!

So, here we are – officially open. What's next?

Red tape! We are waiting for our PVG checks to come through, and then we'll be ready to go.

Our hope is to bring you:

• Sensory play drop-ins

• Bookbug and Bedtime Bookbug sessions

• Tabletop Together games nights

• 13+ youth nights and days

• Homework group

We will be charging a small fee for most of these services. Currently, this will be £2 per person per session.

If you are experiencing financial hardship, please get in touch. We will, of course, make sure you can still attend. We are a non-profit organisation, so every penny received goes straight back into running the centre, covering costs such as rent, insurance, snacks, and future projects.
